Prof. Dr., Head of the Department of Criminal Trial Law at the University of Silesia in Katowice, Ombudsman of Disciplinary Responsibility for Academic Teachers at the University of Silesia, Lawyer, Deputy Chairman of the Bioethics Committee at the Silesian Medical Chamber for 5 terms. His scientific interests focus on the problems of defense in the criminal process and protection of human rights. Co-author of the commentary to the Code of Criminal Procedure, which has been reissued 4 times, edited by P. Hofmanski (Big Commentary series), author of more than 100 publications in the field of criminal procedure and problems of the system of legal protection bodies.
